The new town hall in Nauders emerged - like many others - from a competition supported by the Tyrolean Village Renewal. A compact exposed concrete structure with a light gable roof gives the community an appropriate presence through its form and height development. Between the new building and the former town hall from the 1950s, which has now been repurposed, an attractive village square has been created.

In a diverse setting on the edge of the historic village core, the demolition of the old municipal building opened the way for a redesign of the site—through which the municipality also gained a long-missing village square. Two restrained volumes—a three-storey municipal building and a two-storey linear block housing a bank, medical practice, and community spaces—together with existing buildings, define a clearly structured square, articulated into scale-appropriate subspaces.
