the cooperations and the networks
As an independent cultural institution, aut is integrated into several networks in Innsbruck, Tyrol and Austria. aut is thus a member of the Austrian Architecture Foundation, the joint platform of Austrian organizations promoting contemporary architecture, and continuously works together with the local art scenes in order to improve the framework conditions for the production and mediation of art.
austrian architecture foundation
The Austrian Architecture Foundation was founded in 1996 as a joint platform of the architecture centers in the federal states, the Austrian Association for Architecture (ÖGFA) and the Central Association of Architects and Chartered Engineering Consultants. The common task is to lobby for high-quality contemporary architecture.

innsbruck contemporary
Since 2008, several major galleries and institutions in Tyrol have banded together to strengthen the locations of Innsbruck and Schwaz in the field of contemporary visual art and architecture at a high level. Three times since then they have jointly hosted the “performIC” performance festival. In addition, ongoing discussions with the responsible politicians about the future of exhibition management and art production are being led.

bættlegroup for art
The bættlegroup for art –which independent initiatives and special interest groups, as well as aut, are involved in – has set its sights on making the variety and the great potential of the independent scene in the city of Innsbruck visible and on maintaining a constructive dialog with city politics. One result was „stadt_potenziale“ (“city_potentials”), the art and culture innovation promotion tendered for the first time in 2007, which was developed on behalf of the City of Innsbruck.

premierentage – wege zur kunst (premiere days – paths to art)
In 1988, the premierentage (premiere days) took place for the first time in Innsbruck. Since then this mediation project in the area of contemporary art has developed into an established format in which the Innsbruck art and culture scene, including aut, presents itself every year in the fall in a series of art-related events over the course of several days.
