Nature Park Information Center Scharnitz
Architecture: Benedikt Gratl (2018-2019) Builder-owner: Gemeinde Scharnitz Open to the public: yes TIP: The nearby located museum "Holzerhütte” documents the site's past as a former living and working environment for timber workers.
With its sculptural form—evoking the image of a telescope pointing toward the mountains—the new information center at the western entrance to the Karwendel Nature Park establishes a distinct architectural accent. The asymmetrical timber structure, with its slanted façades and variably inclined roof surfaces, presents a constantly shifting appearance depending on the viewer’s position. Thoughtfully arranged window openings frame views of the surrounding mountain landscape.
