"Walking around, looking at, thinking about - these direct experiences and perceptions prompt an awareness in me of the potentials of an architecture today, where so much mediated, vicarious imagery, colours our thoughts and understanding of space. How might one raise this awareness of a legitimaxy of ideas that rests in the straight forward, where it is possible to suggest the interaction between site and usage and explicit spatial relationships at many scales that might touch you but not explain?" John Glew
Set up own practice in 1993. Commissioned for a strategic proposal on a large disused quarry in the royal town of Caserta, Italy. Consultant for long term, strategic plan of Parco del Cilento, in collaboration with Peter Beard. Presently Guest Professor at The Royal Academy for Fine Arts School of Architecture Copenhagen and external tutor at The Architectural Association.
Spatial and perceptual relationships between the occupation and use of interior and exterior space and organisational devices emerge in the work at differing scales, suggesting the values of contexts to relationships in large, public, architectural spaces with the interplay of ideas and objects, and the relation of objects and activities.
